Take a look at the new photo album about my open studio at the latest Eastside Culture Crawl (right column). My studio is still in a state of flux, but I have been meeting people there to talk about new work. During the next season, I will be back to the books: binding, repairing, teaching... there are some interesting book projects on the go. It feels good to get those supplies out to help artists and writers to make something to contain their big and small ideas and texts.
And, it was so exciting to have Kathy Duschene stop by to deliver 4 lovely comforters that she had made from a combination of her gently used linens and remnants and using the polar fleece backing that I gave her to use. Thank you Kathy! I would really love to encourage more people to make comforters start to finish: learn how to make a very practical blanket for those who need it and maybe one for yourself or your family. Let me know if you want a set of simple instructions (leave a comment here).
