After reading your previous recent posts on homelessness it reminded me that it is on everyone's mind these days, including me. Every year I try to do something and this year was no different this Christmas. I took a bag of 50 pair of gloves to the DES street walkers shelter and thought since I do something every year anyway, why not make it into an art project for this year - taking a page from your book. So this year it will be an official project.

hey lois!
it makes me think of re-enactment - or re-staging of poses we see done in domestic life; the pulling open of table cloths, hanging dirty laundry... but in this case who's laundry is being hung to dry and what is being concealed/revealed/unveiled?
unfolding and folding - it also reminds me of the kinds flag waving and banner parades that you will see at the looming Olympics... but in your case no nations represented...it has that kind of performative quality; a re-staging a private and domestic gesture into public, industrial spaces...an upturning of "home" life, and for who's benefit? who's "homes" are being tossed....?
